The Mental Health Association of Monmouth County is a Not-For-Profit organization located in Tinton Falls, NJ. We're seeking a part-time Accountant for 5-8 hours per month on a volunteer basis. Responsibilities will be processing, journalizing and supporting bi-monthly payroll related activities. Individual will also help with ad hoc financial activities as needed. Applicants must reside in the US. Comprehensive background and credit checks will be performed. Job Description details: Payroll processing: Process payroll bi-monthly for W2 employees and 1099 consultants Enter journal entries into QuickBooks Online using automated sync functionality Research and resolve queries from HR and employees as needed Familiarize yourself with our payroll and time-keeping system Audit support: Provide backup documentation to auditors Adhoc projects: Assist the part-time CFO with ad hoc analysis Provide support to the part-time bookkeeper as needed Qualifications and experience: Undergraduate degree in accounting, with a firm understanding of debits and credits 5+ years prior experience processing payroll and related accounting required Expertise with Microsoft 365, with emphasis on Excel and Teams Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred but not required Previous experience in nonprofit accounting preferred but not required Must be equipped for efficient remote work Personal traits: Collaborative team member with excellent communication abilities Adheres to high ethical standards, ensures confidentiality, and exemplifies integrity Prioritizes accuracy and attention to detail Demonstrates reliability and dependability Mental Health Association of Monmouth County
