Overview Supervisor of Education/School Principal The SEARCH Day Program in suburban-coastal Monmouth County is seeking a uniquely qualified individual to join the school leadership team. The ideal candidate must possess a NJDOE endorsement as a school supervisor, or school principal. This candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience serving students with autism in a school setting, preferably in an APSSD setting. Experience in applied behavior analysis, teaching ADL’s, using task analysis, community-based instruction, and teaching independence is preferred. This person will work closely with other members of an energized school leadership team to contribute to a growth mindset, while strengthening identified aspects of the educational program. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Responsibilities Supervising certified classroom teachers, behavior analysts, and non-certified faculty Use of strong communication and presentation skills to lead others to develop important skill repertoires necessary for teaching learners with autism Working with other disciplines, such as speech pathologists, occupational therapists Promoting the instructional program using professional development, coaching and mentorship to other members of the faculty Possess strengths in problem solving and interpersonal skills The capability to organize and assess classroom level and school-wide instructional data and make recommendations The ability to maintain close contact with parents, case managers, and others in a fast-paced school setting The use of strong planning, organizational, and project management skills to successfully formulate, lead, and maintain/improve professional knowledge, competence, skill, and effectiveness of the faculty.
