CV Resources has partnered with a highly respected educational institution to recruit a Staff/Senior Accountant for a full-time, permanent opportunity. This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of four days onsite each week in Eugene, OR . The position offers the chance to support a mission-focused organization committed to academic excellence and community impact.

We’re seeking an experienced accounting professional with a strong foundation in financial reporting, budget management, and compliance. This individual will play a key role in overseeing general ledger activity, leading reconciliation efforts, supporting capital planning, and guiding process improvements across the institution’s financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and maintain the general ledger, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliations across key accounts.

  • Support annual and long-term budgeting processes, including capital outlay tracking and reporting to stakeholders.

  • Oversee cleanup and reconciliation of accrued payables, ensuring compliance with institutional, state, and federal guidelines.

  • Analyze financial data and assist in preparing internal and external reports, including audit documentation and funding agency submissions.

  • Evaluate and enhance accounting policies, recommend procedural improvements, and support system and workflow updates.

  • Serve as a liaison between finance, academic departments, and external agencies, representing the institution in budget discussions and program evaluations.

  • Coordinate and supervise project coordinators, administrative staff, student workers, and volunteers—delegating tasks, setting priorities, and providing training as needed.

  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive financial and student information in accordance with FERPA and other compliance requirements.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, with a focus on financial analysis, reconciliations, and budgeting.

  • Previous experience in a higher education or government-funded environment is a strong plus.

  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle), along with intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), internal controls, and financial reporting standards.

  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative setting.
