Electrical Designer – Custom Automation Solutions

About The Role

Are you an innovative problem-solver with a passion for electrical design and automation? Join our team as an Electrical Designer and play a key role in creating custom equipment solutions that drive performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction. This is a hands-on role where you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams in sales, manufacturing, and assembly , working on projects that push the boundaries of automation technology.

What You’ll Do

• Design & Develop: Create electrical schematics, panel layouts, and machine documentation for custom equipment.
• Collaborate: Work with controls engineers to design electrical control systems.
• Support Commissioning: Assist with machine start-up, testing, and debugging both in-house and at customer sites.
• CAD Expertise: Create and update electrical and pneumatic schematics using Electrical CAD tools.
• Component Selection: Size and specify electrical and pneumatic components for custom machinery.
• Documentation: Develop bills of materials and ensure compliance with controls standards.
• Service Support: Provide troubleshooting assistance for machines in the field and via remote support.
• Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and recommend improvements for new and replacement components.

What We’re Looking For

• Education: Minimum 2-year degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience: At least 2 years in electrical design, preferably in packaging or automation environments.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Electrical Design, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
• Bonus Skills: Exposure to PLCs, schematic design, and automation systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with packaging machinery and PLC programming.
• Familiarity with vision systems and dimensional analysis.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, MO.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $43.27/hr.
